I notice how easily what is seen becomes separate from the one who sees? How a relationship becomes a distance, a difference becomes a division, and an interpretation quietly takes the place of what is actually here?Perhaps perception does not simply show us the world. Perhaps it gives form to the way I have learned to see it. I look through the lens of separation, and then perceive the separation I have created through that lens. What would remain if, for a moment, I did not assume that what I perceive exists exactly as it appears?Could I stay with the seeing without immediately naming it, judging it, or dividing it? Can I allow the boundary between the one who perceives and what is perceived to become less certain?Perhaps the movement is not from illusion to another version of reality, but from believing in my perception to becoming aware of the act of perceiving itself. And in that awareness, what seemed separate may begin to reveal itself differently.
